Dr. Carney Soderberg is a licensed psychologist who specializes in comprehensive neuropsychological and psychological assessments, parenting consultation, and psychotherapy for children, adolescents, young adults, and families. He completed his doctoral degree in clinical psychology at the PGSP-Stanford Psy.D. Consortium, followed by two years of post-doctoral training in pediatric neuropsychology, which included a clinical fellowship at McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School, Department of Psychiatry.
Dr. Soderberg has expertise in working with people who present with clinically complex profiles of cognitive and emotional strengths and concerns. He is particularly skilled in differential diagnosis of co-occurring ADHD symptoms, learning disabilities, anxiety, depression, and/or disruptive behavior disorders. Dr. Soderberg also enjoys helping young people and their families to understand why they might be struggling with school, relationships, self-management, or self-esteem and what to do to feel more successful in these aspects of their lives. He thinks about mental wellness and illness from developmental and biopsychosocial perspectives, and his therapeutic interventions are informed by cognitive-behavioral and family systems approaches.
While Dr. Soderberg has enjoyed opportunities to live around the world and experience a variety of different cultures, he is proud to call Austin his home. When he is not working, he enjoys volunteering, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends.
