Dr. Amber Moreland is Licensed Psychologist, who provides psychological and neuropsychological assessments. She specializes in working with children, adolescents, and adults with a range of socio-emotional problems, as well as cognitive symptoms and disorders. Dr. Moreland has worked with a wide range of neurodevelopmental disorders, including intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and specific learning disorder. She has also had experience with neurological conditions, including traumatic brain injuries and dementia.
As a military wife, one of Dr. Moreland’s passions is working with trauma throughout the lifespan, particularly with adolescents and adults. Dr. Moreland’s areas of expertise include traumatic brain injury, posttraumatic stress disorder, neuropsychological evaluations, and forensic evaluations. She is certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD and has experience with individual and group therapy focusing on PTSD, anger management, and substance use disorders. Additionally, Dr. Moreland is trained Cognitive Behavioral Therapy CBT) to treat anxiety and depression.
Dr. Moreland obtained a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Fielding Graduate University. She completed an APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship within the South Texas Veterans Health Care System and her post-doctoral training with Neurobehavioral Institute of Austin. Through her training and experience, Dr. Moreland has developed effective assessment consultation skills to educate her patients on their capabilities, clarify diagnoses, and guide treatment planning.
